Baby boy for Mr & Mrs Estima

Congratulation to Mr & Mrs Braulio Estima on the birth of their son Julian Widecki Estima who was born on 20/4/09. No doubt a BJJ world champ in the years to come.

Our Polish Contingency

Here’s two of our Polish members here at Gracie Barra channel Islands. On the left we have Maciek Kasperek he’s 29 years old and from Poznan  Poland. He has been training BJJ for 9 months all at Gracie Barra Channel Islands Jersey.  On the right we have Jarek Glamkowski he’s 32 years old and from Pabianice Poland. He been training BJJ for the last three years also at  Gracie Barra Channel Islands Jersey. Both Maciek and Jarek train on regular  Basis at the academy and hope to compete at the BJJ British Open this June.

Breaking news

I can confirm that Gracie Barra Channel Islands is now an officially recognized academy under Carlos Gracie Jr. I’m also happy to announce that Braulio Estima will become head instructor for Gracie Barra Channel Islands. This is great news for both academy’s Jersey and Guernsey.This is another great step forward for Gracie Barra Channel Islands being part of an extensive world wide organization.

Gold and Bronze at Brighton Open

Congratulations to Matt Norris and Matt Delauney both picking up medals in their respective weight class. Matt Delauney getting GOLD at super feather weight in the white belt divison  and Matt Norris collecting BRONZE at super heavy weight in the purple belt divison. Matt Norris had to move up to super heavy weight due to the heavy weight class being merged with super heavy.We will get a more news about the Brighton BJJ open when we catch up with both Matts on their return.

Brighton BJJ Open

The Brighton BJJ Open is on this weekend April 4th and two members of Gracie Barra Channel Islands Jersey will be competing in this event.

Matt Norris will be fighting at purple belt and Matt Delauney fighting at white belt.

Both fighters have had a very good tournaments of late, the last of which being the Bristol open.

All of us here at Gracie Barra Channel Islands wish both Matt Norris, Matt Delauney all the best for this weekends competition.

As always we will keep you posted with the results as soon as we get them.
